Excerpt:
He was a complex man. I'd seen two different sides of his personality, with another facet having been hinted at. And now I caught a glimpse into his psyche. A rich businessman showing a concern more for love and world peace than for power. Did that explain his quiet command? He wasn't aggressive and full of bravado, but the underlying authority was there. When he spoke, people listened.
That quiet power was what drew me to him the first night at Lord Middleton's manor. It wrapped him in a sexiness level far above other rich men I'd met and miles beyond Lord Middleton's sexiness level.
But what was I doing letting my thoughts wander? I had a hot, naked man next to me. I blinked and met his gaze. "Time to give you your prize."
He grinned and placed his arms up under his head. "Prize me."
I leaned closer and covered his swelling penis with kisses. His breath quickened. His cock twitched. Changing what I did, I traced his shaft with teasing bites and long licks from bottom to top. When he was completely wet, I slipped the tip into my mouth. Holding him there, I reached around and grazed his bare ass with the tips of my fingers. His body quivered.
Making a circle around him with my finger and thumb, I pressed my lips to my fingers and lowered my mouth as far as I could, then continued the movement with my hand. Pulling my hand back up to my lips, I slid back to his tip, and then lowering my head and hand once again. My fingers reached between his legs and stroked his testicles. "Like that?"
"Mm-hmm. That feels good."
I glanced up, met his gaze, and smiled.
Using a light touch all the way through my coordinated stroke, I kept the pressure steady. His fingers wrapped in my hair as he pulled me closer, trying to get deeper into me.
My speed and pressure increased as the rest of my fingers encircled his engorged shaft and mimicked the efforts of my lips. His hips bucked into me. His breaths came in short sharp pants and the look on his face said he was focused on the delicious delights my mouth and hand provided him.
My left hand alternated from clawing his ass to caressing and squeezing his testicles.
With a groan of frustration, he said, "Stop."
More about Daryl Devoré:
Two writers in one. Daryl Devoré writes hot romances with sexy heroes and strong heroines. Victoria Adams is Daryl Devoré's alter ego when she's inspired to write sweet romances with little to no heat.
Daryl (@daryldevore) lives in an old farmhouse in Ontario, Canada, with her husband, a black cat named Licorice and some house ghosts. Her daughter is grown and has flown the nest. Daryl loves to take long walks on her quiet country road or snowshoe across the back acres, and in the summer, kayak along the St. Lawrence River. She has touched a moon rock, a mammoth, and a meteorite. She’s been deep in the ocean in a submarine, flown high over Niagara Falls in a helicopter, and used the ladies room in a royal palace. Life’s an adventure and Daryl’s having fun living it.
Question and answers with Daryl Devoré:
What are your current projects?
I am trying to finish a medieval fantasy. But the dragon is getting nasty and I'm too scared to open the document. (or I've hit a block in the writing – lol)
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
Marketing. I'm a writer – not a marketer. People go to university to study the subject. Writers are just supposed to know what to do.
Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?
Torn between Agatha Christie and Dorothy L Sayers. Love the complexity of the story and the way they pull you in.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
Many, many authors will say – learn your craft, study the rules. I say – write the damn book. 90% of the people who start won't finish. So finish it. Yes, it is going to have plot holes, and grammar mistakes – so what. You wrote a book. Now, you can go back and study and fix it.
What’s your favorite line from any movie?
They're over at the Co-op. From Spaced Invaders
