Saving Suki by Sierra Brave

Do you like shape shifters? How about a little hot romance? Then Sierra Brave’s latest book, Saving Suki may be just what you’re looking for. It is book 4 in the Horse Mountain Shifters series.

Saving Suki - SB - Horse Mountain Shifters Series Even Alpha Males Cant Fight Fate.jpg

Blurb:
An abusive childhood and an accident in his teens left stallion-shifter, Malcolm Patterson, with a distrust for his father and a lot of holes in his memory. When his dad passes away, Malcolm returns to Horse Mountain to fulfill his obligation to settle his old man’s affairs but finds the shifter community’s near hero-worship of the late doctor disquieting. He’s further shaken to meet a curvy beauty at the funeral who makes his heart gallop and his primal instincts take over.
Suki Marks has been in love with handsome and noble Malcolm Patterson ever since he saved her from bullies who called her an abomination when she was ten. He was the first person to be straight with her about the reasons some people shunned her family and he was quick to debunk those prejudices as the ignorant folktales and stupid superstitions they were. Even after Malcolm graduated high school and left town, she couldn’t forget him, but becoming Doctor Patterson’s live-in nurse in his last year of life was a coincidence. She never expected to be named in the wealthy physician’s will.
Malcolm assumed he’d be disinherited, but even from the after-life, his father continues to turn the knife, using his will to set up an elaborate scheme to taint Malcolm's feelings for the woman who might be his fated mate. To make matters worse, a dangerous shifter-purist movement is brewing among a small segment of the Horse Mountain Clan, and they’re determined to prevent Suki from passing on her genes to a new generation. Will Malcolm be able to work through his past in time to secure his and Suki’s future?
Disclaimer: Saving Suki is a smoking hot romance with graphic, put-you-in-the-moment love scenes. Themes include explicitly sexual situations. If such content might offend you, please do not buy this book.
Saving Suki can be read as a standalone but Horse Mountain Shifters books 1-3, will add to the enjoyment of the experience.

Saving Suki - SB Destiny Brought Them Together. His Father Made Them Rivals. But No One Can Fight Fate.jpg

Excerpt:
“Suki, I’m coming in.” The words to make him halt lingered on the tip of her tongue, but she didn’t make a sound as her door flung open and the tall, broad-shouldered man she’d been dreaming of since she was a kid came rushing through the entrance. “Just what the hell are you doing up here?” His eyes were wide and darkened by his expanded pupils while a rosy hue stained his cheeks. He stared at her, his chest rising and falling rapidly.
Her lips parted and she shook her head. Unintelligible noises filled the air between them but none that expressed her indignation at his question. She swallowed back the lump in her throat. “Me? I haven’t done anything but rest on my bed.”
He eyed her, his tongue absently brushing across his bottom lip as he moved closer, circling her like prey. “You sure?” He sucked air in through his nose before heading straight to her hamper and placing his fingers on the lid. Her jaw dropped and she screamed as she rushed forward to stop him, reaching out and smacking the top. As gravity and momentum closed the hamper, Mal snatched his hand back, and to Suki’s utter horror, her arousal-drenched underwear had been hooked by his thumb.
She snatched her undies out of his hand before he had a chance to examine them more closely. “What in the hell do you think you’re doing?”
He lifted his chin and looked down at her, a smirk playing on his lips as he shifted his weight and widened his stance, making his already considerable height and musculature take up more space. “Were you fantasizing?”
The beating of her heart seemed to jump up into her throat as her cheeks burned. She shook her head adamantly. “As if? No way.”
“Bullshit.” Your skin is flushed.” His perfectly straight teeth showed as he grinned. “And those panties—” He lifted his fingers to his nose and sniffed. “Did you touch yourself?”
The fluttering in her stomach and her trembling legs made her indignity harder to sell, but she tried, pointing at her door. “Get out!”
He shrugged, taking a step backward. “You sure? I won’t force you.” He touched his chest before waving his hand toward her and back at himself. “This thing between us—in the air we breathe, muddling our thoughts and taking control of our bodies—it’s primal, thousands of years of survival instinct pushing us to pass on our genes.” He clenched his jaw, creases forming on his forehead. “I can’t fight it, and I won’t try. You want me to leave? Fine, but if I walk out the door, I’ll go straight to my car, leave Horse Mountain, and you will never see me again.”
Suki’s heart dropped and her stomach tensed, her chest heaving as she struggled with how to respond. His intense stare shook her to her core as if his eyes were demanding an answer. She glanced down at the floor. “Don’t go.”

Excerpt
“Hey now! You’re going to mess up my luxurious locks.” Tommy ran a hand through his hair while smirking before he bent forward and snatch the pillow with one hand while gathering her up with his free arm. Trisha squirmed, resisting until Tommy pulled her into his lap and wrapped his arms around her waist. “Settle down now.” He nuzzled the side of her head.
Her chest tightened and her pussy sent shockwaves through her core. Tommy had hugged her before, but he had never held her close in such an intimate way. His hard chest supported her shoulder while his soft, yummy-smelling hair brushed against her neck and cheek. For some reason, he smelled like Ken tonight. She closed her eyes, breathing in his fragrance. Oh! Her eyes flickered open as his cock stirred beneath. He’s getting hard! Trisha’s breath caught in her throat, and she pursed her lips to repress a smile. As her eyelashes fluttered, she caught the expression on Ken’s face. Shit. He looks as if he’s been punched in the gut. Is he jealous? I can’t have these two fighting.
Scooting back into her seat, Trisha used both hands to shove Tommy away. “Unhand me, you troll!”
“Troll!” Tommy scrunched up his nose and twisted his lips.
“Well, when you make that face.” She pointed and laughed. “I saw a deck of cards over by the snacks. Let’s play poker.”
Tommy grinned and nodded. “Sure, but Ken will wipe the floor with us.”
Trisha shot a look Ken’s way, offering him a smile and a wink before awkwardly looking away while playing with her hair.
Ken stretched in his seat. “As much as I’d love to rake you two over the coals, we don’t have any chips.”
Well, here’s my opening. Hope my voice doesn’t crack. Trisha lifted her face, batting her lashes at him. “Who needs chips when we have clothes?

Q&A with Sierra Brave

What made you decide to re-publish the first book in the Triple Passion Play series?
Sierra: After the unfortunate passing of the owner of the publishing company, my rights to Rock You Like a Hurricane reverted to me. To keep the book available, I had to re-publish.

You made extensive revisions. Why?
Sierra: The characters in the Triple Passion Play series are some of my favorites which is probably why I wrote four books featuring them. The first book was published in 2016. When I was ready to re-publish, I took a fresh look at the story. Rock You Like a Hurricane was still a fun, sexy read, but in the past four years, I’ve learned a lot, and my writing style has changed. The voice no longer sounded like my own so I edited until the characters and story felt like they belonged to me again.

Were there any major changes in the plot?
Sierra: No. The bones and the heart of the story are the same. The timeframe covers less than forty-eight hours—Rock You Like a Hurricane is all about the catalyst for the deeper relationship developing between Ken, Tommy, and Trisha in the next three books.

Is Rock You Like a Hurricane a historical romance?
Sierra: Not really. I call it a retro erotic romance. I wrote book four, Triple Naughty Christmas, first before any of what became the first three books. My intended had been to write a stand-alone holiday romance about a seasoned poly relationship. Once my middle-aged trio began to come to life on the pages, I felt like a lot more of the story of Trisha, Tommy, and Ken deserved to be told. The beginning seemed like a great place to start. Book one is set in 1996 when the three MCs are still in college.

Why does Rock You Like a Hurricane feature so much world-building?
Sierra: I wanted to convey a sense of nostalgia for the mid-to-late 90s, but I spent a lot of energy setting the scene for a much larger reason. In order for older readers to be able to relate to the main characters, I needed them to feel as if they were stepping into the college coed/new adult mind frame. Tommy, Trisha, and Ken behave differently in book one than they do in book four because they’re not nearly as mature or confident yet. Navigating the early days of adulthood is a challenging time often filled with impulsive decisions and mixed-emotions of anxiety and excitement. I wanted my mature readers to remember those heart-pounding, fly-by-the-seat of your pants, but in some ways, much simpler days

Triple Naughty Christmas by Sierra Brave

Are you in the mood for a little bit of Christmas heat with a touch of humour? Sierra Brave is here today with her book Triple Naughty Christmas, book 4 in the Triple Passion Play series.

Blurb
Navigating the Yuletide season can be a challenge for anyone but after hosting their family Christmas celebration for more than fifteen years, forty-something mom, Trisha Marks-Davidson, believes she’s conquered Santa and tamed all of his reindeer. Anything but ordinary, Trisha’s family of seven consists of herself, her two husbands, Tommy and Ken, and their four kids. Despite their unusual situation, she’s cultivated a system for a fun-filled holiday packed with their own special traditions.
Trisha, Tommy, and Ken are pleased with the quiet, comfortable life they’ve built together but are disturbed to learn the novelty of their three-way union still hasn’t worn off for some members of their community even after nearly two decades. A last-minute decision to attend a neighborhood Christmas party could be the trio’s undoing. The opportunity to set the record straight is there for the taking but actions speak louder than words and temptation is all around them.
Disclaimer: Triple Naughty Christmas contains graphic language and sexual situations as well as a positive depiction of a bisexual poly-relationship. If you will be offended, please do not read.

Excerpt:
Once he was undressed, Thomas opened his travel bag, pulling out a box wrapped in silver paper and topped with a white bow. He placed it on the nightstand closest to Ken before he attempted to slip under the covers with his spouses.
“Well hey.” Ken’s voice was groggy as he rubbed his eyes. “What time is it?”
“Too early in the morning—I hadn’t meant to wake you.” Thomas combed his fingers through Ken’s silky, black hair, pushing his bangs away from his steely gray eyes before placing a kiss on his forehead.
“That’s okay. I’m not the one you need to worry about.” Ken’s tone was low as he tilted his head towards the blond sleeping next to him. “Trisha’s been in a mood today. Mommy dearest called.”
“Ah, Attila the Mom,” Thomas agreed in a whisper.
As Ken sat up, the covers sagged around his abdomen, showing off his bare chest and the sexy V-shape his torso made when his lean stomach met his hipbones. Thomas couldn’t help reaching over and running his hand from one hard, toned pectoral to the other. Ken wasn’t a big guy like himself, but he kept fit, making sure every inch of his body showed his well-defined, hard-earned, muscle tone.
“Mmm.” Ken closed his eyes, sucking air into his nostrils. “You better make sure you’re up to finishing anything you start.”

Excerpt
She fell, her gaze locking with his as her body bounced against his mattress. She watched with anticipation as he stripped off his sweater and undershirt, allowing her to drink in his sculpted pectorals and rock-hard abs. She bucked her hips as her pussy demanded to be sated.
Using one foot, he pushed off his shoe, repeating the process with the other and kicking his footwear out of his way. Jessica sat up, reaching out and grasping his belt buckle. She unfastened it, yanking the accessory through the loops.
Chase tugged at the bow holding her top closed, untying it and exposing her naked breasts. “Nice,” he said, leering while licking his lips.
Jessica inhaled rapidly, pressing her hand against the bulge straining beneath Chase’s slacks. He moaned, and she unbuttoned and unzipped his pants, yanking them down over his firm ass. As his pants fell, bunching around his ankles, she grasped his behind, caressing it over his white cotton boxer briefs.
Before she could strip off his underwear, Chase knelt and started taking off her pants. He leaned in and nuzzled her breasts, his lips teasing the protruding nubs. “Mmm,” Jessica moaned. As he sucked, his black spiky hair tickled her skin. She sighed wistfully as she reclined.
Chase striped off her jeans, leaving her wearing only a thin damp purple thong. Her chest heaved as her gaze focused on the swell beneath his undergarment. He was so hard and large the head of his cock was peeking over the top of the waistband. He parted her legs, moving between as he rested on top of her.

Excerpt:

Lucy sat with her arms folded across her chest and her bottom lip poking out as she stared out the passenger-side window. Despite her sour mood, Horse Mountain’s rustic scenery enchanted her—beautiful cabins, both big and small, grassy pastures, and lush evergreens abounded for as far as the eye could see. This would be a nice place for a vacation if I wasn’t practically being kidnapped. She shook her head as she tried to fathom how she’d been uprooted from her comfortable life by no fault of her own. Mama might as well be carting me off to prison. She licked her bottom lip as she pressed her forehead against the cool glass.
“Oh, come on now. It’s not as bad as all that?” Dory Crane continued driving.
“As all what?” She kept her attention on the greenery. If she saw her mother’s face, her anger might transform into sadness and she didn’t want to cry.
Her mom huffed. “You with the silent treatment up here and the refusal to so much as meet my gaze.”
Lucy’s nostrils flared. “You’re lucky I’m too old for an Amber Alert. How am I supposed to react when you’re sending me off to the middle of nowhere to stay with some strange old woman I’ve never even met?”
“She’s a family friend. Her daughter and I attended finishing school together.”
Lucy snorted. “I still can’t believe you went.”
“In my day, all of the girls of our clan were expected to go. It was a very big deal amongst the equine shifters.”
“And look how much it taught you. Did you even graduate?” She practically spat her words.
“Your mama knows how to behave like a lady when she needs to.”
“So this woman isn’t even kin?”
“No, but she is an equine shifter. One of her sons was good friends with your birth father.”
She gasped, finally turning to look at her mom. Her mother’s husband had raised her, and most of the time, Lucy claimed him as her daddy, but she longed to know more about her biological father. Trouble was her mama was always tight-lipped when it came to the subject. “My dad? Does he live around here? Can I meet him?”
Dory shrugged. “Can we not talk about him? Nothing you learn will make you happy.”
She locked her index fingers together while pulling her hands close to her chest.  “I wonder if he looked for me.”
“He might have if he’d known about you, but I was only three months along and not showing yet. Telling him would have just complicated our separation and eventual divorce.”
Lucy’s jaw dropped and she fought not to shed the tears welling up in her eyes. She pursed her lips and stared straight ahead, taking a deep breath. “I don’t know how you could do such a horrible thing.”
Dory frowned, knitting her eyebrows. “So self-righteous! One of these days you’ll realize when it comes to our kind, the head can’t always control the heart. Getting involved before finding your one true mate is dangerous.”
Lucy opened her mouth as if she were gagging and made a retching sound while pointing her finger toward the back of her throat. “Please stop talking.”
“Excuse me? At least I’m not pushing you into an arranged marriage the way my father did to me.”
“Sorry, but I don’t want to hear your selfish reasons for running off with a gambling-addicted coyote shifter.”
“Hush your flapping lips. You know Craw didn’t start playing the slots until after we left Mississippi.”
Lucy huffed. “You mean after we got run out of Biloxi because of your low-rent fortune teller con jobs?” Her mom shot her a nasty look but didn’t deny the accusation. Lucy held her left wrist with her right hand while shaking her head. “Either way, I’m being forced to pay for someone else’s mistake. To think your husband used to actually be a pretty good dad. Now, not so much.”
Her mama’s head jerked to the side as she threw a furious look Lucy’s way, complete with narrowed eyes. “Stop testing my patience, Lucy Abigail Tate.”
I hit a nerve. Lucy tried not to smirk. Her mama couldn’t tolerate any bad-mouthing of the love of her life, regardless of how true the words rang. Crawford “Craw” Crane continually proved himself to be a turd in the punch bowl, but her mama always defended him and probably would continue to until her dying breath. “Why’d you give me his name instead of Craw’s?”
Her mother pressed her lips together. “Legally, I was still married to him when you were born so Tate was my last name, but can we please drop the subject? Your daddy, Craw, the man who looked after you like his own blood from the minute you were born—He loves you. He thinks he’s doing right by you.” She shook her finger at Lucy. “I just don’t agree. A girl needs to wait for the one.”
“The one,” Lucy mimicked while rolling her eyes. “I still think this is crazy. It’s not like I couldn’t just flat out refuse Grayson.”
“Hmm, I wonder if you’d be able to stand strong if the patriarch got involved. Would you tell him no?” Without waiting for Lucy to answer, Dory reached toward her. She flinched but relaxed as her mother fingered a strand of her hair. “I like the color.”
She gritted her teeth, fresh anger filling her gut as she recalled her mom forcing a bleach job on her in a crappy hotel room about midway through the trip. “I miss my red.” She jerked her head away from her mother’s touch.
“If Craw or any of the Vegas-clan tries to find you, they’ll be looking for a ginger, not a towhead.”
Vegas-clan…Lucy let the words scratch at her brain. When she was younger, she hadn’t realized a bunch of different types of weres joining a clan under a “Boss” patriarch was weird. Now she understood most clans were matriarchal, and Mr. Black’s operation was similar to organized crime groups with their Godfathers. Her mom pulled up in the driveway of a lovely one-story cabin surrounded by tall trees before turning off the engine. “Now you mind Ms. Banks. Do whatever chores you’re assigned.”
“I’m not afraid of hard work though I guess my real job will be filled by the time I return home…that is if I don’t die out here in Hickville, USA.”
“You shouldn’t say such things, sweetie. Mama’s going to get everything fixed up.” Her mother patted her arm, but Lucy yanked away from her. “I’ll get your daddy straight and find another way to settle his debt, but you better not go talking any trash about him.” All the tenderness of her touch seemed to have faded as she wagged her finger again. “I can’t have any of my old clan, particularly my kin or some of the nosey strumpets I graduated high school with, getting any word of Craw’s misstep. Stick to the story. You hear me?”
Lucy’s blood boiled. “So it’s alright for a bunch of people you haven’t said a single word to in years to think your daughter’s some kind of out-of-control hoodlum as long as they don’t find out the truth about your crappy husband?”
Dory pointed her boney finger at her again, shaking it about an inch from Lucy’s face. “I asked if you heard me, girl.”
“I got it.” The corners of Lucy’s mouth turned down and her shoulders drooped as she huffed.
“Good.”
“With any luck, I’ll get the money from my daddy, and you’ll be home in no time.”
Lucy’s eyes widened and she nearly snapped her neck while jerking her head around to look at her mother’s face. “My granddaddy? Can I meet him?”
Her mom’s eyes rounded and she smirked. “Depends on if he’ll give me the money.”
She tightened her closed lips, squinting slightly. “So you’ll ransom a visit from me?”
Her mom smiled. “Whatever it takes.”
