##SatSpanks Testing the Hardware

Sadie has just received a gift from Simon, a Mason Pearson hairbrush. Because there is company in the kitchen and she has not broken any of his rules for at least 12 hours, she doesn’t expect to taste its sting for a little while. Which shows how little she knows about him in the early days of their relationship. From my novel Simon Says:

"This spanking, like the one I left you with after the first night we spent together, is pre-emptive. A reminder not to need more drastic correction."

A wall of resistance rose up in me and I glared at him. But I undid my jeans.

He took my hand, led me to the counter, and bent me over it.

"No! [They’ll] hear!"

"...The walls are solid concrete. No one will hear a thing. Unless you make too much noise. Now—hands."

I'd barely put my hands in the small of my back when he spanked me six times, hard and fast. Three swats on each cheek. The hairbrush burned and I bit my lip to stop from crying out.

Begin Again by Jane Henry

Today I welcome the wonderful Jane Henry to my blog. Jane has been writing since her early teens, dabbling in short stories and poetry.

When she married and began having children, her pen was laid to rest for several years, until the National Novel Writing Challenge (NaNoWriMo) in 2010 awakened in her the desire to write again. That year, she wrote her first novel, and has been writing ever since.

In 2012, she became interested in the d/s lifestyle, and has discovered her love for writing romance with a d/s twist. With a houseful of children, she finds time to write in the early hours of the morning, squirreled away with a laptop, blanket, and cup of hot coffee. Years ago, she heard the wise advice, “Write the book you want to read,” and has taken it to heart. She sincerely hopes you also enjoy the books she likes to read.

Jane’s book, Begin Again, was released by Blushing Books on February 16, 2016.
Look at that cover! Doesn’t it make you want to jump right into the story?

Blurb:

Life is good for Meredith and her husband Paolo, when a terrible car accident leaves Paolo disabled. As he distances himself emotionally, Meredith seeks consolation in her fantasy world. Escaping into her erotic romance books not only helps keep the loneliness at bay, but also awakens in her a curiosity about the Dominant/submissive lifestyle.

The day she stumbles upon a website forum of actual submissives and dominants, her life is forever changed. These are not characters created by authors. They are real people who engage in real life dominance and submission. As her knowledge grows, she learns there is one question only she can answer—is she truly submissive, or is the fantasy better left on the pages of a book?

In a last ditch effort to discover who she really is, Meredith agrees to pledge her obedience to an anonymous on-line Dom. She convinces herself it can't be considered cheating if her Dom is just a faceless entity in cyberspace. But the first time she's given an order, it all becomes too real. Will her devotion to please her on-line Dom take precedence over her flesh and blood husband? Will Meredith's journey of self-discovery destroy their marriage or will they somehow find a way to begin again?

EXCERPT from Begin Again: Book one in the Bound to You series:

“Oh, now you'll pay for that, little girl,” he said, as he held her in the air, kicking and screaming. She was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes.

He sat down heavily on the bed, easily turning her over his knee, her upper body laying on the bed and her feet dangling helplessly. He took both her arms gently but firmly and pinned them behind her, on her lower back.

“Let's see how full of sass you are now,” he continued, as she felt his hands on the back of her skirt, pulling it off and baring her to him. She felt the fabric dangle around her ankles, and heat moving through her. She squirmed with her pulsating arousal as he restrained her. It was always like this, when he overpowered her, pinned her arms down in bed, or pushed her up against the wall, his strength sending red-hot signals to her lower regions.

“What were you saying just a moment ago, young lady?” he said, his deep voice sending shivers down her spine. “Think you can get away?”

“No sir,” she said, and just for the hell of it, she tried to squirm a little. His large palm slapped down on her naked ass, and she squealed from the sting of it. Her arousal intensified, as she felt his warm, coarse hand caressing the spot he'd just spanked.

“Ah, but you've really been a good little girl, haven't you?” he murmured, his voice softening now, and she melted.

“Yes, sir,” she whispered. She felt his hand lift up and come down again, but it wasn't like being punished. No, nothing like that at all. It was nothing like the pain – both emotional and physical – of a hard disciplinary spanking. This was for her pleasure. He'd take her just below her tolerance, with firm but deliberate strokes.

“Good girls deserve good girl spankings,” he crooned, his voice sending shudders through her.

Getting to know Jane Henry

What are you working on at the moment?

I'm currently working on three novels. I don't know if I've ever been working on three at the same time, but one is a co-written book, another so intense I can only write in fits and starts, and another historical romance that is my first historical, and a completely different tact for me because it's the first time I've written both first person and historical.

Give us an insight into your main character in Begin Again.

In this novel, Meredith is someone that I think is a very relatable character. She craves deeper intimacy with her husband, but doesn't really know how to get that, and she's also erotically and emotionally drawn to being taken in hand.

How much research do you do?

It all depends. My current WIP, the historical, is requiring more research than I've ever had to do. I finally checked a bunch of books out of the library and have been gleaning everything I can about pioneers, wagon travel, and the like.

Have you written any other novels in collaboration with other writers?

Yes! Maisy Archer is a very dear friend of mine, and we're finishing up our third co-written novel together. It's SO fun and I highly recommend this approach. We have our first co-written novel coming out with Blushing Books later this year, and a second in the series we're finishing now.

#SatSpanks - the Joy of Spanking

Simon and Sadie haven’t known each long but it feels like forever. He has marched into her life: one part tyrant, one part adoring, protective lover. Sadie enjoys him as a lover and is confident enough not to be overwhelmed by his strict rules.

Besides, the spankings aren’t all bad news.

An excerpt from Simon Says:

He smacked my bottom hard. I gasped.

"That was quarter strength. So far you haven't had a full strength spanking from me. Don't give me any attitude or you'll find out how seriously strong I am. Understood?"

"Yes." In spite of my better instincts, my tone was sulky.

Smack.

"Ow!"

"Do I need to repeat the message?"

“No, I think I've got it now."

[…]

The spankings drained away all the frustration, stress, and annoyances of my life. They were like going for a long, breath-hold dive and staying down until my lungs almost burst. I rose from them exhausted and thrilled.

His Gentle Persuasions by Alyssa Bailey

Today I'm delighted to welcome my first guest author, Alyssa Bailey, and look at her latest book, His Gentle Persuasion.

This dyed-in-the-wool Texan writer lives in beautiful Southeastern Alaska with her husband, her youngest four (of eleven!) children, two dogs, and two cats.

After her mother read to her as a small child, Alyssa began writing as soon as she could put letters together to form words. Her first story at the age of six was about a performing horse that ran away from the circus. As she got older and read more of a variety of books, she would say, “I can do better than that” and then rewrite them in her head. She was writing fanfiction before the trend had a name. In high school and college, she won journalism and special recognition for her writing.

Alyssa is a firm believer in all things spanking. She loves writing about domestic discipline and power exchanges between strong, intelligent women and Alpha men confident enough to keep them safe.

Her books feature lords and ladies in Regency England or men and women in the contemporary and cowboy world.

Today we are looking at Alyssa’s most recent release, His Gentle Persuasion (from Blushing Books), which is storming the Amazon charts.

His Gentle Persuasion

Blurb:

Rancher Ciarán O’Connor is one of the best and most successful equine and canine trainers in the Northwest. Finding a date is never hard for Ciarán but unearthing a woman that meets all of his particular expectations that is not too needy herself is more challenging. He is ready to wait for as long as it takes when he spots Nurse Katherine Franklin and makes a horse trade to get better acquainted. He finds that just like his wild or abused animals, Ciarán must slowly work at the puzzle of Katie’s past to find the jewel hidden beneath all that manipulation. It will take all the tools in his arsenal to reach his goal.

Katie has a reputation with the men in the community; hard to catch and impossible to keep. Ciarán O’Connor makes her blood run hot. This rancher expects the woman he loves to allow him to take care of her which includes her obedience when he asks for it. And a red hot bottom when she doesn’t. Ciarán doesn’t need someone like Katie, whose past screams for her to run while her heart begs her to stay, but will he take her anyway?

Can Ciarán convince Katherine that his take-charge lifestyle is not only what she needs, but everything she craves? Or is she going to turn away from the future she desires because of the past she has endured?

Excerpt:

“Where is Aaron?” Ciarán looked around as though he expected to see him somewhere. "

"Oh, inside, I told him that I was going home and I didn’t need him to go with me if he wasn’t ready. We came in separate cars so that worked out fine or it seemed like it would.”

“He allowed you to go home alone? Where is your phone? Did you already call someone to come and get you?”

She shrugged her shoulders to dismiss her answer. “I left it at home. And just to be clear, no one allowed me to do anything. I do what I want.”

Ciarán growled as he told her to sit tight and he would be right back. A shiver of
something ran through her body at his tone, creating a rolling anticipation in her stomach and a clenching of her core. Ciarán got into his pickup a few rows away and pulled up in the row front of her car. Jumping out he told her to get into his truck to stay cool and he would jump-start her battery.

“Oh, I’m all right, it isn’t too hot,” Katie said quickly, not moving from her leather
upholstery so he would not know that her legs were quickly becoming seared to the seat. She knew that skin peeled from the seat sound would be a dead giveaway.

She had made it a hard and fast rule not to let another person, especially a man, dominate anything associated with her actions or her will. She had allowed that before with disastrous results and would not do it again. She had come a long way but it was still difficult to trust anyone with macho tendencies. Gorgeous as this specimen was, he was machismo personified.

Ciarán opened the door wider and went down on his haunches saying deliberately and in a quiet voice, “Don’t argue, beag Leanaí. You will be perfectly safe. Mind me and go sit on the passenger side of my pickup or I will not get your car started and you will have to let me take you home in my truck.”

Again, Katie was dismayed when she sensed a thrill that went right to the center of her womanhood. However, she was not going to acknowledge it by dwelling on it. Nor was she going to let another man tell her what to do even if this one was sexy as hell while doing it. Been there, done that. However, her inner soul was begging that she let this one in. It was begging her to try again with this man.

“What did you say? You said it twice now, beag Leanaí. What is that?”

“Truck.” He stood up. The conversation was over.

The Making of Simon Says

My first erotic romance, Simon Says, is due for release next Friday, January 29th! I couldn’t be more excited. I’m eternally grateful to the people who have brought my vision to realization: namely my publisher, Blushing Books, and most particularly the excellent editor, as well as woman responsible for the eye-catching cover, Lawson Craighill.

My editor challenged me on some aspects of spanking, specifically the strike zone. That was excellent – it forced me to do some research on the subject. I found these two charts that illustrate the safe areas for spanking. If you’re just starting out on your spanking adventure, I wish you lots of fun, romance, and, most importantly, safe practice.

How do you keep the fire going in your spanking romance? Do you have a safe word and defined limits?
