#SatSpanks - The Whole Box and Dice

Today is the release of the Simon in Charge box set from me and Blushing Books. It includes the three books in the Simon in Charge series: Simon Says, Winning Sadie, and Sadie Says I Do.

To celebrate the occasion, I’ve been rereading the start of the adventure, Simon Say. It’s Simon and Sadie’s first date.

"Try this." My date handed me his fork with a lump of Brussels sprouts speared on the end.

"Uh, no thanks," I said. "I don't do green." […]

He set down his knife and fork. "Young woman, you should be put over someone's knee and spanked." A burning blush crawled up my neck and I was certain he could see it even in the darkened corner of the restaurant.

"That's not going to happen," I said and studied my plate. I could barely swallow. Electricity buzzed up and down my spine. […]

"We'll see about that," he said with a dazzling smile. A slight note of censure in his voice made me feel as guilty as if he'd caught me trying to slip the silverware into my purse.

“I suppose,” she snapped.

He kissed her forehead and looked into her eyes. “Do you deserve a spanking?”

Something in her chest tightened at the smoldering intensity of his gaze. She shrugged, acting far more nonchalant than she felt.

Del sensed that Ronnie felt guilty about the way she’d spoken to him. He’d seen it in the way she’d bowed her head when she asked what he was going to do about her language. Sure, she had challenged him, but she’d done so in a way that said come on, I dare you. What are you going to do? The unspoken words were: I misbehaved. Are you really going to spank me?

When she rubbed her bottom after he smacked her, it was more like a caress than a salve. She was up for more of the same and he’d be happy to give it to her. But, like taming any wild animal, he’d have to pace himself. She’d run away at first but eventually, he was certain, she’d come back to him.

Ronnie Flynn is on Seguro Island with Del Franklin. He has just caught her snooping through their hosts’ bedroom, taking photos with a phone she’s not supposed to have: (NC-17)

“You can give me the phone willingly or I’ll take it off you. Either way, I’m going to spank you, right here, right now, anyway.”

“Like hell you will.” Ronnie dropped her skirt and stared at the phone, as if she’d never seen it before. Then she lobbed it at Del, almost collecting his face with it. She was fast.

He was faster, catching it midair. “Brat! You’re going over my knee.’

Ronnie stood, slack jawed, shaking her head. “I don’t think so.”

“Let’s put it this way, you can take a spanking and we’ll draw a line under this incident.” He stepped closer to her. “Or I can march you downstairs, past all the guests, and we’ll show Simon how I just found you and what you had in your hand.”

“Good girl,” Simon said coming up behind me. I wanted to ask who was at the door but didn’t dare. When he laid the hairbrush and thick wooden ruler on the desk in front of me, I moaned in resignation.

“Now let’s get back to work. First of all, why are you here?” He held the back of the hairbrush to my mouth and I kissed it, as he expected me to.

[Next] he touched my bottom lightly with the wide ruler, something he’d found in an antique store in England.

Distracted by the sensation of the wood tapping my backside, I shook my head. Days had passed and I’d forgotten the nuances of my misbehavior.

“The easiest reason of all,” he said.

“Because you love me?”

“Correct. Count that as reason one, two, and three. Reason four is your Sirens’ Night, which maybe we should call your night of shame. What do you think would be a suitable penalty for those hours of indiscretion?”

Saturday Spankings - A Prairie Promise

Happy holidays! Christmas is my favorite time of year so I’m thrilled that my short story, A Prairie Promise, will be included in Blushing Books’ holiday anthology this year. Learn how you can read all the short stories for free at the end of this blog post.

A Prairie Promise features Aussie surfer, Kylie Sandford, who is house sitting her aunt’s home on the frozen Canadian prairie. Before she arrived in Edmonton Kylie had never seen snow in real life. Next door neighbor, Will, has been urging her to be more careful when she goes for a run in the bitterly cold weather. So far, she seems to be a very slow learner:

She spun on her toes to walk away. Before she took one step, he smacked her bottom. Hard.

“Ouch!” she said, staring back at him wide-eyed.

“A taste of things to come.” Will grinned. “Because so far you seem to be ignoring my advice. I’m not talking to exercise my vocal chords so the next time you forget, I will take great pleasure in turning your cheeks a nice Christmas red.”

Kylie had no answer for that. Struggling to steady her heart rate, she walked quickly back to her house hoping he didn’t see the blush crawling over her body.
