Excerpt from Yuletide Yielding by Ashe Barker
He paused, eyed her with a curious blend of exasperation and something else also. Something softer, warmer, more compassionate. “You did not hope to wed me yourself, did you? You must realise that is impossible.”
“I know that. I have never said—”
“But you have wanted it? Wished it could be so?”
“Perhaps,” she whispered. “But I am not a fool. I am a thrall. Vikings do not marry thralls.”
“They do, on occasion. But I am not merely a Viking. My brother is the jarl. I have responsibilities. Even so, I do not wish to hurt you, and I would prefer that you could be content with what we have.”
But even if you are not, it is happening anyway. The words lay unspoken between them.
His expression hardened. “I have said all I wish to on this matter. We will not speak of it further.”
“Very well.” Resigned to her situation since she could not alter it, and to her coming punishment, Lynet stared at her bare toes. “Do you want me to take off my clothes?” Apart from the blanket and Stian’s cloak, she wore only her thin, rough woollen night smock.
“I do. Then you may arrange yourself across my lap.” Stian started to unfasten the leather belt around his waist.
“You would beat me with your belt?” Lynet recoiled. “I had thought you meant just to spank me.”
“Disobedience alone would have merited a spanking. Your dishonesty requires something a little sterner by way of correction. So, you will undress then come here, Lynet, and accept your punishment.”

All Work And No Play by Gracie Malling

This is the season that just keeps on giving! Mischief Under The Mistletoe a fourteen-novella anthology available now! Today I’m looking at Gracie Malling’s story, All Work and No Play that is included in this book.

Blurb: It's hard to focus at work when your boss also happens to be your Dom, and Mia is finding it increasingly difficult to balance her work life with her kink life. Christmas, however, is an excellent distraction, and Mia is determined that their first ever office Christmas party will be one to remember. And it will... just for all the wrong reasons!

Editor’s note: These delightfully naughty Christmas spanking stories feature scorching romance and BDSM. Some involve age play, all involve spanking. There’s also a bit of LGBT+, some magic, and a drunken incident with a photocopier. If this isn’t your scene, it might be better to find a nice book about knitting lamp shades, instead.

Excerpt:

“Not so fast, little girl!”

I freeze, five stairs up, and then look back over my shoulder to see Will standing in the hallway glaring up at me.

“What’s wrong?” I ask, trying my best to look innocent.

“Back down here. Now.” He takes off his thick winter coat and hangs it up behind the door, never breaking eye contact.

My belly clenches up in that gorgeous way that is both scary and hot as hell, and I tighten my grip on the bannister rail. “Why?”

“Mia Elizabeth Clarke, you are already in enough trouble as it is.” He raises his voice ever so slightly. “Here. Now.”

“But… but I already had corner time.”

Will grabs hold of the bannister rail and starts up the stairs after me.

I squeak and take the rest of the stairs at a run before sprinting along the landing, throwing open our bedroom door and flinging myself inside. This is a ridiculous plan, however, and I realise this moments later when Will strolls in, calm as you like, shuts the door firmly behind him and then stands there, arms crossed, expression hard and mouth set in a disapproving line.

I retreat until the backs of my thighs hit the bed, and then I sit down on the edge of it with a defeated whimper. “I’m sorry…”

He raises an eyebrow and takes a deliberate step towards me. “Sorry for what, young lady? For being a brat at work, for running off just now or for both?”

I hug my arms, press my cheek into my shoulder and mumble something incoherent.

“What was that?” His voice has that sharp edge to it that tells me I am in big trouble, but for some reason lovely submissive Mia seems to have disappeared since our little post-meeting chat and my brat persona has well and truly taken over.

“I said I don’t know,” I grumble, staring down at the carpet and still hugging my arms with my face averted.

“Stand up.”

I shake my head, squidging my cheek deeper into my shoulder, and stay put.

“Right.” In my peripheral vision, I see Will take two quick steps forwards and then he grabs hold of my hair and yanks me to my feet.

Before I have the chance to do anything more than shriek and wriggle, he sits down hard on the edge of the bed and drags me over his lap.

“You want to act like a brat, Mia?” he demands, his voice harsh, as he pulls up my sensible work skirt and hooks his fingers around the waistband of my knickers. “Well then, I’m going to treat you like a brat.”

Saturday Spankings - A Prairie Promise

Happy holidays! Christmas is my favorite time of year so I’m thrilled that my short story, A Prairie Promise, will be included in Blushing Books’ holiday anthology this year. Learn how you can read all the short stories for free at the end of this blog post.

A Prairie Promise features Aussie surfer, Kylie Sandford, who is house sitting her aunt’s home on the frozen Canadian prairie. Before she arrived in Edmonton Kylie had never seen snow in real life. Next door neighbor, Will, has been urging her to be more careful when she goes for a run in the bitterly cold weather. So far, she seems to be a very slow learner:

She spun on her toes to walk away. Before she took one step, he smacked her bottom. Hard.

“Ouch!” she said, staring back at him wide-eyed.

“A taste of things to come.” Will grinned. “Because so far you seem to be ignoring my advice. I’m not talking to exercise my vocal chords so the next time you forget, I will take great pleasure in turning your cheeks a nice Christmas red.”

Kylie had no answer for that. Struggling to steady her heart rate, she walked quickly back to her house hoping he didn’t see the blush crawling over her body.
