Thank you for joining me on a pre-Halloween trip into the world of fantasy. A Time For Will is a time travel romance. Will Dawson has traveled to modern times from his home in 1885. On the now deserted ranch, he’s met Lissie Pettigrew who thinks he’s an actor who has been sent by her sister as a prank. After he spanks her soundly, she thinks the joke has gone too far. First she asks her twin, Verity to help her. When that doesn’t work, she calls on her younger sister Hope.

“For fuck’s sake, Verity,” Lissie shouted into the woods. “We’ve all had a laugh now. Call off your goon. Enough is enough.”

Hope stood, half laughing, half gasping with horror.

I’m thrilled you’ve joined me today to look at my latest book. A Time For Will is a time travel romance with some spicy spankings. Will Dawson has travelled to modern times from his home in 1885. On the now deserted ranch, he meets Lissie Pettigrew who thinks he’s an actor who has been sent by her sister as a prank. Lissie approaches him boldly.

“I’ve been asking Santa for someone like you my entire life. I guess the wait was worth it.” Lissie ran her hand over the front of his leather vest. “This is nice and soft, just like your lips, I bet.” She made a kissy face at him.

He caught her wrist. “What sort of a girl are you, talking to a man like that?” His grey eyes glinted with outrage.

“I’m a modern sort of a girl,” she said. “I take what I like.” She reached with her other hand and stroked the dark hair that curled around his ears and under his hat. “Nice.”

Before she could register what he was doing, he grabbed her hands and pinned them behind her back. His long, muscular fingers held her two wrists together effortlessly.

She bent backwards slightly as he held her in front of him.

“You touch me again without permission and I’ll cut a switch from the willow tree and tan you so soundly you’ll eat standing up for a week.”

Thanks for visiting my blog! Today I have one last excerpt to share from Holding Cynthia, Romancing the Coast, book 2. Next week I have a new release coming out, A Time For Will. More about that time-travel, romance adventure later.

In Holding Cynthia, Antony has returned home after a week away. He finds Cynthia worried but doesn't know why. She's keeping a terrible secret: earlier that day her doctor delivered a life-changing diagnosis.

When Antony finds her pacing in the kitchen in the middle of the night, she tells him she’s simply anxious because of the move and all other changes in her life.

For the moment Antony decides to believe her:

“You’re too impatient, which isn’t surprising,” he said. “We live in a time of instant gratification. We expect to get over the changes in our lives as readily as we pick up a meal at a drive-through. You’ve got to give yourself more time. Live in the moment, let the deeper changes unfold naturally, in their own time. A month from now, six months from now, you’ll have new friends, new activities.”

Her tears slowed as she acknowledged his comfort. “I guess you’re right.”

“You know I am. You need to turn down the volume of worries. Just so happens, I can help you do that, help you get to sleep.” He grinned.

“How?”

“You. Across my knee...”

“That’s not a solution of any type, let alone a short term one.” She snorted.

“Well let’s try it because what have we got to lose? I’m going to paddle your bottom until you beg me to stop. And then I’m going to spank you some more. When you’re crying and limp, I will take you to bed and I promise you that you’ll sleep like a baby.” He pushed her to her feet. “Now present yourself.”

Reluctantly she lay across his lap, resting her chest and arms on the bed. He waited until she was in position then he fixed his left hand on her waist, rubbing her bottom with his right hand. “I want you to count as I spank you. If you miss a number I’ll start over again, do you understand?”

Things are heating up in  Holding Cynthia, Romancing the Coast, book 2.

Antony has just asked Cynthia to marry him. Unfortunately he’s in another city and the proposal has been made by phone. Not the most romantic proposal ever.

Cynthia is taken by surprise:

“This just wasn’t what I was expecting so soon. I wasn’t really expecting anything. I’m trying to imagine myself telling Sadie. Telling my best friend Cherie. They aren’t going to believe it. Not by a mile.”

“Does that matter?”

“No. They have their lives. I have mine. I just have to think about it. I mean my immediate response is yes of course I will marry you.”

Thank you for joining me this week as I dig deeper into Holding Cynthia, Romancing the Coast, book 2.

Antony and Cynthia are in her new house. Her worldly possessions are on a moving truck, somewhere between Montreal and the West Coast. Antony has bought a big old armchair at the local thrift store and it has just been delivered to the basement bedroom.

The painters have just started work upstairs.

Antony is about to go out of town and leave her for a week or so. Because they have recently established a deep intimacy, Cynthia is anxious about the looming separation:

Antony shepherded her into the room and closed the door behind them.

He sat down on the chair. “I will not have you doubting me. Now present yourself and be grateful for the loud music upstairs.”

She hesitated for a half a second before she pressed her lips into a firm line, undoing her jeans. As she moved across his lap awkwardly, he helped her arrange herself. The wide right arm of the chair supported her torso. The other supported her legs. Her bottom was situated in the center of Antony’s lap, served up like a proper rump, ready to be roasted.

“Now did I tell you I would come back next week?”

“Yes! You did.”

Smack.

“Correct. Do you have any reason to think I am lying?”

Fall has arrived here in the northern hemisphere but in the world of Cynthia Donohue, it’s springtime. She’s just taken possession of her new home. The previous occupants have left it in a mess so Cynthia and her friend, Antony, have spent the whole day cleaning it. Cynthia has an underlying illness that has left her exhausted from this effort.

Antony takes her back to their B and B and bathes her himself, while feeding her strawberries and champagne. Then he leads her into the bedroom where he has laid out a new sleep T-shirt he bought that day. She likes to sleep in full pajamas. He prefers her in the nude. The sleep T-shirt is his concession to her preferences.

One small detail: the sleep T is emblazoned with the words no pants are the best pants.

It’s possession date: Cynthia now has keys to the waterfront house she bought. Antony told her to arrange to have a locksmith change all locks but she decided not to. He’s not happy with this decision so he has asked her if she knows why he told her to do that:

“You said as a woman living alone, I shouldn’t trust that all the previous tenants and owners had turned in their keys.”

“And still you didn’t arrange to have the locks changed?”

“I completely forgot,” she lied. She’d decided she didn’t want to spend the money.

“What do you think happens to naughty girls who don’t look after themselves?”

Cynthia is in the middle of a move to a new city. Antony has joined her, turning her life upside down, including taking over as head of her household. She has a bad back. He has told her she is to go to bed and rest, while he goes to look at a new business (edited):

“A nap? I don’t think so. I feel fine.”

“Do you?”

“I do. I don’t need to go to bed in the afternoon like a toddler.”

“So you feel well enough for another spanking then?”

At those words, Cynthia’s body betrayed her again with a wet, tangled response. She ignored the burning in her face that was probably telling him all he needed to know about her feelings. “No thank you.”

“Those are your options.”
