Spanking in marriage

Winning Sadie - obedience test

Thank you for visiting my website and reading this short excerpt from novel Winning Sadie, published by Blushing Books.

Today Sadie is paying dearly for keeping secrets:

“…However I am angry not to have learned about this sooner, like maybe the week you accepted my proposal?”

“I’m sorry,” she repeated and squirmed, trying to avoid the hand that was roasting her bottom.

[…]

“Not as sorry as you’re going to be.” He spanked harder and faster.

At one point she lifted her hands to protect herself, to try to stop the stinging redness that was spreading over her upper thighs and cheeks.

“Take your hands away.” His tone was implacable. This was a test of her obedience.

Winning Sadie - Will it never end?

Thank you for visiting my website and reading this short excerpt from novel Winning Sadie, published by Blushing Books.

Today we look at the aftermath of a spanking:

Simon held Sadie on his lap until his legs went to sleep and then he helped her to her feet. “Are you feeling better, little one.”

She smiled shyly at the endearment that he used sparingly. Her eyes were calm again and she’d stopped shaking from the spanking. For the moment, their world was safe from doubt.

The heat from her spanked bottom was still warm on his thighs. He wondered how long it would be before she obeyed him without question, before these sterner spankings became unnecessary. Probably never.

Cassie Corralled by PK Corey

This week it is my privilege to introduce PK Corey, a small town southern writer. happily married to her best friend for over thirty years. With two grown children, the couple is learning to love the empty nest. Next year will see the end of a long and satisfying teaching career and PK is anxious to spend more time writing.

She didn't grow up with the desire to be a writer, but did love to daydream. As a child, she spent most of my spare time, and quite a bit of time when she should have been doing schoolwork, either reading or making up stories.

She was quite young when Cassie wandered into her head and began telling her stories. PK has always been drawn to spanking stories, but needs a little romance with it. That's how Cassie and Tom came to life, as a true love story with spanking thrown in.

Here is the lovely cover from her latest book, Cassie Corralled from Blushing Books.

Love and passion aren’t the soul property of the young. Wait until you meet Cassie and Tom.

Blurb:

Cassie is still living life to the fullest, telling Allie stories about everything from long ago shooting incidents to playing laser tag with the children. Tom keeps an amused, yet watchful eye, on his lovely wife. He tries to be tolerant of Cassie’s fun loving ways, but when she decides to spend the day with people she met through the Internet, without letting him or the girls know of her plans, Tom sees red. Tired of Cassie constantly putting herself in possible danger Tom decides to hire her a driver. Cassie immediately sees this plan for what it really is; Tom wants to hire a bodyguard / watchdog / babysitter for Cassie. That’s something Cassie won’t tolerate and after quickly packing a bag, she’s gone with a roar of the engine and a squeal of the tires. In this case Cassie is determine to have her way – and so is Tom. The final decision may change life on the river forever.

Excerpt

I could not believe what Tom was saying. “You will not!” I stormed. “I have done nothing wrong and you are not going to spank me and I don’t have to go anywhere against my will. Take me home. You can’t spank me for nothing.”

Tom made no comment and the ensuing silence was thick. We rode on without speaking for the near hour it took to reach the house. The company where Tom works now rents this house where we lived for seventeen years. Clients and visiting VIP’s stay here so it was beautifully decorated for Christmas, but I barely saw it as Tom took my hand and led me quickly to our old bedroom, a small overnight bag in his other hand.

I hate being spanked when Tom is truly upset with me – and he was. I hate it even more when I feel I’ve done nothing wrong. My overall success rate at getting out of a spanking once we’ve reached this point is probably less than a fraction of a percent – but I’m not one to go down without a fight.

“I don’t know what’s got your drawers wound so tight, but you have no business spanking me. I haven’t broken any of your silly rules. I haven’t lied to you about anything. I forgot to take a pill one day! That is nothing to spank me about. What’s wrong with you?

Tom said nothing so I went on, “Are you mad because I’ve been busy lately? I’ve had to take care of Sue and it’s December! Things are happening. I guess you’d rather me be chained in the house, but when you want to do something you can go anywhere, anytime. And this big, important party tonight – why are you so insistent on going? Who’s going to be there that you want to be with more than Annie and Andy?”

I hate to even repeat this next part, but you have to understand I was just mad and on a roll. “Have you found another woman?” I stormed. “You want to show her she doesn’t have to worry about your old hag of a wife?”

I saw it, the hurt on Tom’s face just before it turned to anger. I tried to save it, “Tom, I’m sorry,” I backpedaled. “You know I didn’t mean that. I just…”

“I think that’s a darn good place to start.” He pulled me to the bed and quickly and none too gently pulled down both my slacks and panties at the same time. He began spanking quickly with his hand, but not terribly hard. This wasn’t a good sign; he was actually giving a warm up which told me he was going to take his time.

Tell me about your latest release

Cassie Corralled is the eighth in the Cassie Space series. This book continues the adventures of a couple who actively practice domestic discipline and have through out their forty-year marriage. This was always the type story I loved – a husband who loves his wife more than anything else in his life, but doesn’t hesitate to put her over his knee for a sound spanking if she puts herself in danger or is less than truthful with him. Through it all the love story is first.

Are you like any of your heroines?

A definite yes and no. Sometimes I think I gave too much of myself to Cassie – she can be fiery and hot headed, she’s fearless and strong. Since Cassie comes from me I feel these are my traits too – but it’s only as I’ve gotten older I feel I’ve given myself permission to be more like Cassie.

How many books have you written? Are they all spanking fiction?

I’ve published eight in the Cassie’s Space series. They are all spanking fiction, it’s what I understand and enjoy writing.

Are you okay in your kink?

I’m not only okay, I’m proud. I’m a born spanko who, like so many of us, hid it most my life. Once I embraced it, when reached a point where I don’t have to hide my true self from anyone, I’ve been much happier. I don’t go out and preach it on the street corner, but I can certainly hold my own in a conversation where someone is calling it unnatural or abusive.

Do you have a specific writing style?

I need to see and hear what’s going on with my characters. My husband teases me about saying I’m going to go write and he sees me in the recliner with my eyes closed. He thinks I’m sleeping when I’m actually watching what’s happening and afterwards I just write what I saw (ok, sometimes I’m sleeping).

Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Yes! Mostly that love and passion are not the soul property of the young. Getting older brings on challenges, but it doesn’t change your feelings about love, or sex or even your kink. And for all the twenty-something’s saying ‘ewww…’ there are more in their fifties, sixties, seventies and beyond saying ‘YES!’

Excerpt

"I bet he never had a friend in the first place," I said later that night when Hayden and I were getting ready for bed. "I bet he bought two tickets to the cricket just hoping he'd find someone to accompany him by telling that sob story."

"Don't be ridiculous," Hayden said.

"I thought this trip was all about us, Hayden? About us doing things together. About us nurturing our relationship with romantic candle-lit dinners. Not about you going off to watch a bunch of men chucking a ball around with some random guy, leaving me sitting here all evening on my own."

"I said you should meet us after the match. We can still go to dinner."

"And I said I didn't want to. Not with that tosser, anyway." I got into the pull-down bed and wriggled onto my side, pulling the sheet over me; it was way too hot for a doona, but I didn't like sleeping with no bedclothes at all.

"That's your choice – so don't blame me for the fact you'll be eating here alone."

"Better than hanging out with you and fucking Robert, anyway. How come he's not going to visit his friend after the match? His sick friend who can't make it? You'd think he'd go round there with a get well card and a bunch of grapes, wouldn't you, instead of – ouch!"

Hayden's hand stung my thigh. "What's that for?"

"Are you serious? You carry on like the proverbial pork chop because I'm spending one day attending a cricket match. One day out of the 365 we're spending together on this trip. And you ask why you got that slap? Any more of this carry-on and you'll be over my knee getting a really good spanking."

Because the caravan park was quiet, there was a good distance between us and the nearest caravan, so Hayden could probably carry out his threat with no risk of being overheard. I lay there quietly, burning with resentment, silently going over the pros and cons of defying him. The pros: I was right to make a fuss about this, and continuing to show him how annoyed I was would prove to him how unfair I thought he was being. The cons: It was going to be hard to sleep while I was angry anyway, so I didn't want to make it even harder by having a throbbing bottom. And I also didn't want to be spanked because of an argument over a jerk like Robert. I got the impression that he'd be pleased if he suspected I was in trouble with Hayden, and I didn't want to give him that satisfaction.

So that was one pro and two cons. I sighed.

"So you're going to behave yourself, then?" Hayden asked, getting under the sheet. "A very sensible decision."

Unlike the one you've made about the cricket. But I kept my thoughts to myself. I didn't want to give Hayden the satisfaction of spanking me either.

Hayden, as if guessing my thoughts, chuckled and snapped off the light.

Come Back to Me by Jane Henry

Today I’m delighted to welcome back to my blog, the lovely Jane Henry with her book, Come Back to Me: book two in the Bound to You seriesHere’s a look at the enticing cover - but wait until you read the sizzling excerpt:

Reunited couple Meredith and Paolo reclaim their passion through the erotic intimacy of Dominance and Submission.

Publisher:  Blushing Books

Released:   April 7, 2016

Genre:        Contemporary erotic D/s romance

Blurb:

Meredith and Paolo are reunited after a devastating accident drove them apart, in the hopes that embracing a lifestyle of Dominance and Submission will rekindle the passion they once had. The premise is very simple: Meredith will obey Paolo, and he will enforce his expectation of her obedience.

But where do they go from here? Paolo proposes a plan that will raise the stakes, a weekend of intense training that will push them both to the edge of their limits as they embrace their new-found roles.

Is Meredith prepared to be stripped of the protective wall she's built around herself? Will she willingly trust Paolo to lead her—even if that means submitting herself to his discipline? Can Paolo be all that she needs — her leader, protector, and disciplinarian, but most of all...her lover?

This is the second book in Meredith and Paolo's "Bound to You" trilogy, a story of love, trust, and devotion, as one couple rekindles their love through the passionate, erotic intimacy of Dominance and Submission.

EXCERPT:

When he spoke, he surprised her.

“I don't want to punish you, Meredith,” he began softly.

Her guilt intensified. He didn't want to punish her, and was her fault. She felt awful.

“Then don't,” she whispered. “I'm sorry. I hate that I've put you in this position. We don't have to--”

“Did I say I'd punish you if you disobeyed me?” he interrupted sharply.

She swallowed. “Yes. I mean, yes, sir,” she stammered.

“Do I always mean what I say?” he continued in the same sharp tone.

“Yes, sir. Always, sir.”

“Then I do have to punish you. But do you understand this isn't something that's enjoyable for either one of us?”

She looked down at her hands. “I do. Yes, sir.”

She wanted to be kneeling in front of him, his arms around her, sitting in his lap, anywhere but sitting on the other side of the bed feeling like a naughty child. His voice was hard when he spoke again.

“Then the next time you have the choice to obey me or disobey me, I want you thinking on this. Thinking on the fact that when I stretch you over my lap, I want it to be because you're fucking beautiful to me, not because you've disobeyed me. That when I give you an instruction, it's not because I'm full of myself but because I care about you and want you safe. Need I remind you that not six months ago, we got into a car accident that could've taken our lives?”

She gulped. “I know,” she said, her voice cracking. “Yes, sir.” Tears pricked her eyes and her throat ached.

“Yet still, you decided that drinking that much before you got in the car and drove home to me was a good idea?”

She shook her head silently, thankful he didn't require another verbal response.

He exhaled angrily.

“Get over here.” She stood and approached him on shaking legs. “Strip and get over my lap.”

Quickly, she obeyed, stripping off her clothing and tossing it on the floor, down to bare skin. She positioned herself over his lap, her head on the bed, her belly flush against his knees, breath coming in shallow gasps as his large hand settled on her naked skin.

“Are we clear that when I tell you to do something I expect you to obey me?”

She felt on edge, every nerve sizzling with anticipation of her punishment, as she felt a variety of emotions. Humiliation in being naked to him and being over his lap anticipating punishment. Attraction to his command of the situation. Guilt from having disobeyed him.

Fear of the pain.

“Yes, sir,” she said, bracing herself...

Getting to know Jane Henry:

Jane has been writing since her early teens, dabbling in short stories and poetry. When she married and began having children, her pen was laid to rest for several years, until the National Novel Writing Challenge (NaNoWriMo) in 2010 awakened in her the desire to write again. That year, she wrote her first novel, and has been writing ever since. In 2012, she became interested in the d/s lifestyle, and has discovered her love for writing romance with a d/s twist. With a houseful of children, she finds time to write in the early hours of the morning, squirreled away with a laptop, blanket, and cup of hot coffee. Years ago, she heard the wise advice, “Write the book you want to read,” and has taken it to heart. She sincerely hopes you also enjoy the books she likes to read.

A Cure for All Ills - Bethany Leigh

Today I’m thrilled to welcome the talented Bethany Leigh to my site. She and I have been friends for a long time and she has forgotten more about writing than I will ever know.

She writes domestic dramas and detective stories spiced up with spankings and romance. Her books are: Freedom, set in an alternate Edwardian England; Betrothed, a short prequel to Freedom; At Dead of Night, a contemporary whodunit; and just this week, A Cure For All Ills, an anthology of short domestic discipline stories. All are published by Blushing Books.

Bethany lives in Australia. When she’s not writing, she likes hanging out with her family, catching up with friends over a wine or coffee, and spotting kangaroos, wombats, kookaburras and other fabulous wildlife in the bush near her home.

This week we’re looking at A Cure For All Ills, the anthology that includes both real life problems as well as some time travel. Some of these stories are the most authentic to real life imaginable.

 Blurb:

Many misdeeds – one punishment

Maddie's hot new date loves to cook – but she avoids eating at all costs.

Sarah has perfect plans for her anniversary – but Dan's disappeared into his man-cave.

Ginny's always let her dog run free in the 'on-lead' area – but now a fine has turned up in the post.

Maddie, Sarah, Ginny and the other feisty women in these stories all have problems. And they all have men who believe that a spanking is a cure for all ills.

Excerpt:

Depressed and exhausted, Maddie took a long shower. The hot water felt comforting and the fruity aroma of her shower get lifted her spirits a little. It was okay, she told herself; it was a temporary lapse; she was back in control. She would go for a run or to the gym. Or maybe she would drive to the pool too, swim some laps. She’d burn off all those calories. And right at the end of the day, when Adam was due home, she’d go to the supermarket and replace everything she’d eaten so that he’d never know what had happened. And she’d never, ever do this again. She could beat this thing.

“Maddie.”

She jumped and shrieked. Oh, God, she thought, it could be – not Adam, he was at work.

But it was. The shower curtain was pulled back and Adam’s hand was switching off the shower. “Dry yourself, put on some clothes and come downstairs,” he told her curtly. “You’ve got some explaining to do.”

Tell us more about your new release

It’s a collection of short stories and is titled A Cure for All Ills. Whereas my first book, Freedom, was an alt-history and my second, At Dead of Night, was a detective story, A Cure for All Ills is a collection of honest-to-goodness domestic discipline stories. One of the stories features a spanko time-traveller from the future making illicit trips back to 1680s London to track down the legendary spanker Whipping Tom, but all the others are contemporary, featuring women in DD relationships and whose partners see – or come to see –  spanking as ‘a cure for all ills’.

Two of the stories feature a woman whose partner uses DD to help her overcome a severe eating disorder. What made you write about this?

I was bulimic throughout my twenties and used to long for a man like Adam to enter my life, take responsibility for my eating, and save me from my self-destructive dieting obsession. It didn’t happen for me, but it does happen for Maddie. When I first tried my hand at writing a DD story, the eating disorder scenario felt natural for me – troubled heroine with a serious problem, caring partner using tough love to help her recover.  So ‘A Cure for All Ills’ was the first DD story I ever wrote and the other one featuring Adam and Maddie, ‘Far to Go’, was the second.

Describe one scene in a novel that stayed with you long after you closed the book

There are so many – mostly to do with a fabulous twist in a murder mystery or sci-fi plot. But if we’re talking spanking scenes that stayed with me, I’m old enough to remember when spankings appeared in mainstream literature. It was always an unexpected thrill to turn the page and find yourself reading a spanking scene. I don’t remember anything at all about the Jeffrey Archer novels I read years ago apart from the spanking scene in Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less where the hero spanked his girlfriend in the car. There was also a Jilly Cooper romance called Octavia I remember nothing about apart from the scene where the drunken heroine was spanked by a man she’d just met – and, of course, later she married him!

If you could go back in time, would you change anything about any of your books?

I’d set the events of Freedom and Betrothed in a Ruritanian kingdom rather than an alternate Edwardian England. I briefly considered doing so when writing Freedom, but thought it might not work given the settings were so very Downton Abbey-ish. But there was confusion when Freedom was released – some readers thought it was a badly researched historical novel as opposed to completely fictitious world that just happened to contain grand Downton Abbey-style houses and take place in the years the Suffragettes were active. So if I could time-travel like Louise in ‘Time and Again’ I’d make up a country name to go along with the made-up bedding ceremonies!

When is consent not consent?

**Spoilers**

A few people have commented about my book, Simon Says. They say there is one scene when it crosses the line from DD to abuse. This happens in Japan when Sadie deliberately disobeys one of Simon’s specific rules, meant to protect her and keep her safe. As the author and as a DD practitioner, I have some problem with what Simon does next but he acts within his mandate. He is a little over the top and regrets his actions later but at the time he is working within the principle in law known as Carte Blanche.

Sadie has given Simon Carte Blanche, or unlimited authority, in his role of Head of the House. By allowing him to spank her and set rules for her, she has given him authority over her as to when and how much she will be punished. To me, any time a submissive calls the shots about the when and how of a spanking, she has effectively given up her role as submissive. The whole idea of DD is that there is one leader, one primary decision maker. Yes there should be boundaries and safe words, but ultimately the HoH makes the decision.

No skin was broken in the scene in Japan. No blood was drawn. There is nothing like some of the gruesome spanking photos available online. But Simon did thrash her soundly. There is no doubt about that.

Did he get away with it? Definitely, in the short term. The first heat of love and romance has blinded Sadie. At the end of Simon Says, they both think they’ve found their HEA (happily ever after). However Sadie hasn’t quite forgotten that night in Japan. Book 2 in the series, Simon Says I Do, opens with her having serious second thoughts. There are times when a submissive needs to speak up.

What are your experiences with DD? Is there a time when you’ve wanted to withdraw your consent? Have you ever felt abused or unloved in your DD lifestyle?

How are you celebrating Robbie Burns Day?

January 25th is Robbie Burns Day and our small branch of clan Campbell is ready. At sunset we will don our traditional clothes, a kilt for him, a red velvet gown for me. We’ll pour a dram of scotch each, take our dinner from the oven, and settle on the sofa in the living room. Gavin will put a match to the fire and we’ll read Burns’ poetry to each other while bathing in the warmth from the hearth. We will attempt to read the Scottish versions and one of us will fail miserably.

No haggis will be served.

It will be an evening of laughter and dreaming. The entire time I will be mindful of the thick leather belt that runs around the top of my handsome husband’s kilt. He has never used it on me but there have been close calls. It creates a nice level of tension between us and whenever he brings it out, I straighten to attention.

I’m sure these awful belts must be the basis of the tawse that at one time were an integral part of the corporal punishment system in Scotland. Over thirty years ago, the tawse was outlawed for use on children in Scotland, as it should have been.

However consenting adults only have to search the internet to buy a tawse of their own.

Surely as long as Gavin has the belt from his kilt, there is no need for one in our house. Is there?
