My book, Holding Cynthia is about an independent, willful Cynthia who is fast falling love with Antony. They are sitting at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the ocean before she gets her first spanking:

“Finish your coffee,” Antony said softly.

The silence that filled the car after that exchange was mellow, undramatic. The dog walkers, hikers, and other tourists that walked past them would have seen nothing remarkable in the two people in the dusty car. My book, Holding Cynthia is about independent, willful Cynthia who is falling love with Antony, all too quickly. Last week he announced that he was going to spank her for disobeying an order. The conversation continues (edited):

My vacation is now fading to a dim memory. The houseguests have gone home. What a great summer - now I have a new release. Ain’t No Cure was the working title for the book now called Holding Cynthia, Romancing the Coast, book 2. If you know the Leonard Cohen song, Ain’t No Cure For Love, you’ll understand my original choice of titles once you’ve read the book.

Prickly Cynthia Donohue wants Antony Jacobson, but believes she is past the age of falling in love. Antony thinks differently. He not only wants her, he wants to look after her, a job she has clearly been clearly neglecting. His loving affection comes with conditions: she must learn to obey him. When he tells her that she needs a therapeutic massage, she agrees. What she does after that medical visit prompts their first serious discussion (edited). Antony asks her why I decided to walk home:

“When I dropped you at the massage center, what did I say?”

“You said I could call you for a ride home.”

“No, I told you to call me.”

“Told, asked. Same difference.”

“Remember when I warned you that last night’s smack might just be a starter if you didn’t behave?”

She nodded.

Thank you for joining me for more adventures in Simon and Sadie’s world of power exchange, discipline, and romance. Today’s excerpt is from Simon Says, book 1 in the Simon in Charge series.

Simon and Sadie have just had their first dinner date. It’s a snowy New Year’s Day. In the course of one short meal, Sadie has already managed to earn her first spanking (abridged):

"How long will this take?" I asked.
